Harley surprise, here is the e-bike to go anywhere

ROME – The motorcycle community is one of the most consolidated communities in the world and now it’s also up to bicycles. Harley Davidson continues to amaze fans of the brand and after introducing the first electric models (for many a real sacrilege …), it aims to conquer the thriving cycling market where it entered in 2021 with the first e-bikes marketed with the Serial brand 1.

Now the Milwaukee house expands the range by adding the new Switch / Mtn to the urban models, an e-mtb dedicated to off-road adventures enthusiasts. The new model, created with the same engineering rigor and obsessive attention to detail that distinguishes the brand, has been designed specifically for those who love adventure with performance capable of satisfying even the most experienced users. Its specific geometries and well-studied details combined with ease of driving, allow the use of the new e-mtb even to those who are making their first rides in the off-road world.

“The vast majority of our planet is not paved – said Aaron Frank, brand director of Serial 1 – Forest roads, trails, singletrack, bike parks, mountains, woods and forests: there are so many fantastic destinations to explore on two wheels. Switch / Mtn, with its powerful motor, high capacity battery, fully adjustable front suspension and wide range 1 × 12 transmission, has everything you need to take you wherever you want to go ”. The Switch / Mtn is made with a hydroformed aluminum frame (weight 24 kg, size L), with the same basic architecture as the Cty with which it shares the center-mounted Brose S Mag motor and the same compact battery system to optimize the mass centralization by increasing handling.

The geometries are specific for off-road as well as the components adopted which include the fully adjustable SR Suntour Zeron35 Boost Air fork, TranzX seat post with height adjustment button on the handlebar, SX Eagle Sram transmission, with a 1 × 12 gearbox operated by commands single snap action specific for e-bikes. The right grip on all terrains is ensured by the Michelin E-Wild tires while the braking system uses Trp Slate T4 hydraulic disc brakes of 203 mm in diameter and 2.3 mm thick with four-piston calipers, specially designed for use in e-mtb.

Then we find the fully integrated Led lighting (as well as all the bike cables, for the benefit of a clean design and their protection), with front Baf spotlight and high visibility rear and brake lights Rat, integrated into the frame at the height of the rear wheel hub attachment. The removable 529 Wh battery guarantees a range of 48 to 153 km (depending on the driving mode), and is fully recharged in just under 5 hours (0-75% in 2.6 hours). In addition, the Switch / Mtn benefits from a cloud connectivity system through the Serial 1 app, developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, which allows you to acquire the main tour data, monitor all functions and improve safety (on the handlebar is there is an integrated Usb-C charging cable to recharge the smartphone while using the app). The new Serial 1 by Harley Davidson is available in Wasatch Green / Gloss Orange and UintaGray / Gloss White liveries at a price of 4,699 euros.
