You have never seen a Gio Ponti like this

The best ever
Maybe because he was born and raised in Murano, a small island in the Venetian lagoon where you can witness the magic of seeing a drawing become an object is your daily bread. But exploration into the design world of Luca Nichetto it is so lively that it touches all sectors, from industrial to interior design, from architecture to fashion. And the desire to get involved once again led him to create his first kitchen. «For the studio it represented a challenge because it was necessary to express something new in a saturated and ‘full of rules’ world», says the designer. To call him to face the new adventure is Scavolini. An interesting call «because the brand is positioned in a medium-high market which means addressing an audience that seeks quality and status and at the same time actually uses the kitchen. It was therefore a true product design experience as we had to consider many factors of the system of a company where there are significant restrictions », she reflects.
Thus was born Jeometrican extensive program, launched for the first time at this edition of EuroCucinawhich is not limited to the stove room but is declined in living And bath. Not only. The project is also enriched by a series of accessories including chairs, stools, tables and lamps. The result is a harmonious balance between memory and innovation. And in fact Nichetto cites Ellsworth Kelly, Gio Ponti and Donald Judd. “Starting from the idea of the kitchen as the main area of the house, as a place of daily living much more frequented now than in other historical moments, I just tried to convert the concept of “the art of cooking” into “cooking-working with art”, bringing the environment to have a certain type of aesthetics connected to thoughts, to modules that somehow reminded the great abstract masters. In their works the use of color and shapes creates a work of art, in the case of Jeometrica it is also linked to function ».
Home and furniture are also indicators of how people’s needs and desires are changing. How does this furnishing system describe the changes?
“With the pandemic, families have found themselves living cooking much more frequently and perhaps with more passion than before,” he replies. “But there are not only families: there are, for example, the inhabitants of the studios, couples or the elderly. Each with the needs of him. What we wanted was to create a kitchen for everyone ».

And the inspiration comes from the past: «In particular we have taken up Gio Ponti’s equipped walltrying to ennoble it, working on the archetype of what could be the wall of a kitchen covered in tiles and making sure that on this wall a whole series of tools, elements and accessories are applied that allow to have the one of you need “.
