ROME – This year there are over 400 vintage “jewels” of great value at the MIlle Miglia, of which 118 belong to the Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia brands, testifying to the glorious history of Italian motorsport. The Alfa Romeo brand is confirmed as the most represented with as many as 50 cars lined up at the starting line, including three precious specimens, part of the Heritage collection on display at the Alfa Romeo museum in Arese: the 6C 1500 Super Sport from 1928, the 1900 Sport Spider from 1954 and the 1900 Super Sprint of 1956.

On board the special crews formed, respectively, by Giovanni Moceri and Valeria dicembre, Alessandro Alunni Bravi and Vicki Piria, Francesco Pirozzi and Cristina Posta. The spotlight is on the fascinating 1928 Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Super Sport, with bodywork from the Farina Establishments, which aims to repeat the success of 2019, without forgetting that it has already established itself in the editions of the “Freccia Rossa” of 2005, 2007 and 2008. Furthermore, in 2007 and 2008, this car also won the “1000 Millas Sport” in Argentina.

The car, built between 1928 and 1929 in just 31 units, is equipped with a 1487 cc 6-cylinder engine, capable of an output of 76 hp and reaching a top speed of 140 km / h. The 1900 Super Sprint from 1956 is an elegant Touring-bodied coupé that represents the “gran turismo” declination of the 1900, and is equipped with a two-liter four-cylinder engine with the double camshaft typical of the brand for a power of 115 CV Produced in almost 300 units between 1954 and 1955, it is still considered one of the most balanced and refined coupes.

Finally, the 1900 Sport Spider from 1954, is a very rare racing spider, produced in only two specimens, and equipped with the dry sump 4-cylinder twin-shaft engine of the “1900”, brought to 138 HP of power that allows it to touch 220 km / h thanks also to a weight of 880 kg and efficient aerodynamics. “Beyond the historical value, this type of event represents an authentic bridge between the past and the future – they underline at the headquarters – and it is no coincidence that Alfa Romeo, which will celebrate its 112th anniversary in a few days, will support its marvelous cars. ‘era some units of Alfa Romeo Tonale, the first electrified C-Suv of the brand just arrived in European dealerships, a model that marks the metamorphosis of the snake brand and its evolution towards alternative forms of propulsion, respecting the values and the DNA that the Alfist fans of yesterday and today have in common “.
