Municipal elections in Parma, exit poll: Guerra (center-left) ahead of Vignali (Lega-Fi)

The polls closed at 11 pm, in Parma the exit polls of the Consorzio Italia for Rai indicate first with a wide advantage the candidate for mayor Michele Guerra of the center-left coalition.

The percentage assigned to Guerra by the exit polls – the polls carried out at the exit of the seats – is between 39 and 43%, far from the 50% necessary to win in the first round.

Followed by the candidate of Lega and Forza Italia plus civic lists, Pietro Vignali, with a percentage between 19 and 23%.

The runoff vote of the Municipalities is scheduled for Sunday 26 June.

Pending the final count on the turnout in the 204 sections of the capital, at 7 pm 37% had voted: a figure in line with the administrative elections of 2017 when, however, the polling stations remained open also on Monday.

Behind Guerra and Vignali, Dario Costi (10-14%) supported by civic lists and Action and Bocchi (Fratelli d’Italia 6-8%)

The scrutiny of the municipal election ballots will start tomorrow, Monday, from 2pm.

In Parma, the outgoing commissioner Guerra leads a coalition that unites Pd, Effetto Parma (the civic movement of the mayor Federico Pizzarotti who concluded the two terms), Italia Viva, La Sinistra Coraggiosa, Onda and Cantiere Riformista.

The center-right has instead split: the Brothers of Italy has in fact decided to support Bocch, their own party member Bocchi.

Altogether ten candidates for mayor presented themselves: Marco Adorni, Andrea Bui, Luca Galardi, Giampaolo Lavagetto, Enrico Ottolini and Gaetano Vilnò also raced.

The M5s, which in Parma ten years ago won the first electoral victory in a municipal capital with Pizzarotti, did not appear in the elections.
