It all starts with the “Invictus Games”

In 2014 the Prince Harry inaugurated a sports competition for veterans with disabilitiesfrom the name “Invictus Games”. After the success of the first edition, it was also born a foundation – the Invictus Games Foundation – to support the creation of future editions.

From there, the request of the Italian brand to block the registration of Harry’s trademarkbecause it could have generated confusion in the audienceused to associating the word “Invicta” with the Italian brand and its products.

The judge’s decision

Months ago it arrived the decision of the judge who actually accepted the request of the Turin brand (it arrived months ago but it has only just been made public). And the charity created by the Dukes of Sussex will have to pay 1600 pounds to the fashion company.

Background of the Dukes of Sussex with the Patent Office

This it is not Prince Harry’s first defeat on the trademark registration front.
