T.between the first 22 dream beaches chosen by European Best Destinations, seven are Italian. Which means that, among the most coveted and fascinating beaches in Europe, one out of three is bathed by the local sea.

The ranking compiled by the Brussels-based organization, created to promote travel in Europe, and which is based on real surveys conducted among European travelers, has promoted Sardinia, naturally. But also, the island of Elbain the Tuscan archipelago, Puglia And the Campania.

Do we want to talk about Sardinia?
As for the island of Nuraghe, where the sea has nothing to envy to the Caribbean one, there are even three beaches. Cala Goloritzéin the municipality of Baunei, south of the Gulf of Orosei, in the province of Nuoro, reachable only on foot or by boat and considered a “protected” national monument since 1995.
There Cala dei Gabbiani, also on the Gulf of Orosei, pearl of the Ogliastra coast, for its transparent and limpid water. Here, too, you can only arrive by boat.
Therefore Cala Cipolla, one of the pearls of the Chia bay, in the south of the island. Here, the sea remains low up to tens of meters from the shore and all around is surrounded by the Mediterranean scrub.
Dream beaches: there is also the island of Elba
In the Tuscan archipelago, there are two beaches on the island of Elba: the first is that of Cavoli, in Marina di Campoawarded for the sea and the sand, but also because, being protected by Monte Capanne which shelters from the winds, it can be visited almost all year round.
The second is La Sorgente, in Portoferraio. From the wonderful beach, a panoramic path leads to the nearby beach of Sansone, which in turn is included in the ranking of most beautiful beaches in Europe in 2021, according to the ranking drawn up by Trip Advisor. They occupy respectively 14th and 16th place in the European ranking.
Puglia and Campania cannot be missed
Puglia could not be missing from the list, which in recent years has become a favorite destination for many Italian and foreign tourists. In the ranking appears the Bay of Zagare, one of symbolic beaches of the Gargano, in the Vieste area.
In the end, Campania with the Cauco beach. To reach it it is necessary to arrive by sea, with pedal boats or boats. The closest town is Erchie, less than half an hour southwest of Salerno.
