At Milan Design Week 2022, the house is in fashion – iO Donna
“Sand you care about your appearance, you will also care about the way you live. ” In the docufilm Interior Motives of 2017, the protagonist is the close relationship between fashion and interior design. A correspondence that every year, during the Salone del Mobile, is reflected in the collections of the maison.
The house according to Giorgio Armani
Already in 2015, in the Armani / Teatro, in Milan, the exhibition The dream of living according to Giorgio Armani was staged, to celebrate a decade of projects carried out byArmani / Casa Interior Design. And today? For the Salone opens a new exhibition-installation in the Armani / Silos spacesas Giorgio Armani himself explains: “The collection includes new pieces and various re-editions of furniture that have made the history of the brand, condensing references and suggestions that recur in my work:‘Art Nouveau, sophisticated and timeless, the atmospheres of China and Japan, nature with its inexhaustible ideas. An exhibition that summarizes the main sources of inspiration in an articulated and emotional way in an emblematic series of environments, conceived as paintings rich in cultural, graphic and chromatic references ».
Eight themes dealt with in as many environments, such as the plant world of bambooan icon of essentiality declined in pieces such as the “Sharon” armchair («A structure so light that it seems to float» explains Armani) and the silent servant “Suite”, which «comes from a recurring theme in my work: the journey, the desire for new discoveries but also personal enrichment. I have condensed it into this shaped solid wood piece of furniture: closed, it looks like a small, precious trunk for travelers from other times »concludes the designer.
The nomadic objects of Louis Vuitton
An anniversary to celebrate from Louis Vuitton, for the ten years of its “Objets Nomades”: objects inspired by travel that, since 2012, come to life thanks to the creativity of international designers and the savoir-faire of the maison. Among the novelties exhibited from 7 to 12 June in the Garage Traversi in Piazza San Babilain Milan (example of rationalist architecture that will be returned to the city completely renovated after twenty years of inactivity), stand out models such as the “Cosmic Table” by Raw Edges, with a carbon fiber base and an ice-like glass top, the seats in leather “Belt Stool” and “Belt Loung Chair” by Atelier Oï, and “Aguacate”, colored and modular screen by the Campana Brothers.
But not only. Architecture is also a nomad which, as in the past, Louis Vuitton presents on display: for the first time in Milan, again in Piazza San Babila, it will be possible to admire the innovative modular “Nova House” accommodation, a nomadic micro architecture designed in 1972 by architects Michel Hudrisier and Mr. Roma for Studio Rochel. The journey into beauty and culture will end with Librairie Éphémère, a project dear to the maison which, after Venice, now arrives in the Milanese city: from 6 Junefor a limited time, the newsstand in Piazza San Babila will host not only the newspapers, but also the complete collection of Louis Vuitton Travel Book, Fashion Eye and City Guide.
