The 17th edition of the historic Pro Am organized by the Vialli e Mauro Foundation has ended. The charity competition for fundraising against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis took place at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, the exclusive course owned by the Biagiotti family, which will host the Italian Open in September and will be the headquarters of the Ryder Cup. Also this year the support of partners and friends from the world of sport, entertainment and business, among which RF Celada Spa and ERG Spa, Presenting Partner, was fundamental for the realization of the charity event.

To win the trophy of the 2022 edition, with 122 points, was the team made up of Francesco Laporta, Francesca Fiorellini, Borja Valero and Daniela Nebot Marsol of Massimo Mauro’s super team. In addition to Gianluca Vialli, many football champions of yesterday and today challenged each other on the green, including Michel Platini, Christian Panucci, Hansi Muller, and many names of excellence in the world of golf, such as Rafa Cabrera Bello, Stephen Gallacher and Ross Mcgowan. Team Massimo Mauro won the Vialli and Mauro Best Team Challenge, the race in the race that has been thrilling all the participants for four years.

“It was an exciting edition and in one day we raised 190,000 euros” – commented Gianluca and Massimo on the sidelines – “we are happy to see friends and colleagues who, at each edition, always confirm their support, showing closeness to the Foundation and its goal. “

A special prize was awarded to Francesca Fiorellini, who was awarded the “Young Promise” award, in memory of Teodoro Soldati, one of the most talented Italian golfers who died prematurely at the age of 15, presented by the parents of Teodoro, Marina and Domenico Soldiers.

The funds raised on the occasion of this ProAm will be allocated to two concrete objectives:

– the contribution to AriSLA, the Italian Foundation for Research on ALS, to finance the research projects on ALS that have won the competition notices;

– the purchase of the digital mammography unit, for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer installed in February 2020 at the Breast Unit of the Pugliese Ciaccio Hospital in Catanzaro.
